Chronology of cameras Wirgin

Traduction de Pierre Yves Petit.

This Prismaflex has a fix prism. The finder has a split-image rangefinder in the center of the focusing screen. The user can also see in the finder whether the shutter is cocked or not.

Speeds ranges from 1/30th to 1/1000th: there are no slow speeds.

The distinctive feature of this camera is that it has a CdS light meter located on the front plate of the camera, thereby giving a non-TTL metering.

To measure light, the user has to match the light meter needle with another needle that moves when changing the shutter speed. The f-stop scale is in the center of the ring: the user just has to check the speed/f-stop combinations and set them on the camera. Well, it does work exactly the same way as a hand-held light meter!

The camera shown here has a 1:3.5 35mm Ennalyt, a (very) low-end lens.
